What is your concept? (Be thorough & specific. Review the links on Blackboard)	30	My concept for my movie is that the main character Cody West, a police officer who quit, due to the corruption at the station and the death of his brother. Is trying to figure out a way to stop all the crime in his city. Which leads him to go insane throwing and destroying everything in his apartment until he sees an old piece of paper that falls out of a box, he threw that was from when he was a cop. The piece of paper will have a picture of the crime boss that runs all the crime in the city. Then it hit him if he wanted to stop the long line of crime in the city, he would have to cut the head off the snake. So, he went to his best friend Scott Hill who was is the military and the owner of a billion-dollar company that sells weapons to the government, with scientist working on the most high-tech weaponry- Hill Industries. Cody then goes on to tell him on his idea of how to save the city (when saying this he is all hyper and rambling like a crazy person. But after trying to convince him he says no. So, Cody goes to the streets to try to take down all the crime one by one. But just gets beaten up and left for dead. Until Scott shows up in his Porshe and picks him up from the alley and takes him back to his mansion. So, Scotts personal doctor can take care of him. After that Scott agrees to help and shows him all his high-tech spy gear and weaponry. Then they go down this whole buddy crime fighting journey that leads them to the crime boss. But then a crazy twist happens that changes the entire movie which leaves Cody broken.
How did you conceive the idea for this concept?	10	This crazy idea came to me after watching all the superhero movies I watch. Including Justice League, all the Marvel Movies, and Batman V. Superman. This is because I wanted my movie to have the same type of concept. Where all the cards are stacked against the main character, but they still try to prevail.
What do you believe is unique about your concept?	10	The unique or key difference is that the main character wouldn't be some type of super being he is just a normal being on the verge of being/going crazy and everyone things he is insane and phsyco. Unlike all the movies listed above where everyone is fine, with an alien saving everybody and thinks it's fine. Also, the fact that my movie takes a normal human as the crime fighter makes it more intense and realistic in way.
Why do you believe this product will be of interest to your audience?	10	This is because the fact that my movie takes a normal human as the crime fighter makes it more intense and realistic in way. This can make the audience feeling more connected to Cody (the main character). Which leads to the audience feeling more interested in my movie.
Feedback from Peers	15	The feedback I got from the class was great. They thought I didn’t need to change anything. Also, everyone was interested in my end of the movie twist, that I did not fully disclose.

    

 After a long week I had finally pitched my idea for my movie and the response I got was great, one person even started to snap. But when they were asking me questions, they really were only asking about one thing and that was the twist at the end of the movie that I had not disclose entirely. But their interest of this twist made me realize it made the audience way more interested in the end plot. So, I decided I make the ending incredibly exciting and suspenseful.  This got me thinking of should be this twist. Then it hit me, if  the main characters brother who is presumed dead and which drove Cody (the main character) to go on this vigilante adventure, will actually not be dead. But, instead the leader of the crime gang that Cody and Scott spend the whole movie trying to find and stop. Which will be an amazing conflict for the end of the movie that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats and keep them interested throughout the whole movie.  

My decision making for my movie came from a long hour watching and studding the creation of the movies I have watched and really like such as Stuber, Justice League, and Knives Out. Also, what really helped validate my movie decision making was the data that supported this type of movie in the box office. For example, on “the-numbers.com” it showed the top movie of each year and it said that in 1995 Batman Forever and in 1997 Men in Black were the top movies. This gave me even more confidence in my movie. This is because my movie is an action, adventure, and a superhero movie just like the top movies in both 1995 and 1997. Also, another example of data supporting my movie is on the website “statista”. Which goes into detail of how popular each genre of film is to each age group. On the website it shows the percentages of the most popular movie genres among adults in the U.S. and under action it says that 18-29 is 87%, 30-44 is 91%, 45-54 is 90%, 55-64 is 88%, and lastly 65+ is 84%. Which just gave me more and more confidence. Since my movie is action based this means that my movie genre will be greatly respected throughout all adults no matter their age. Lastly, another piece of data that really showed me how well on track my movie was the website, “the-numbers.com” which said that the top grossing genres from 1995 to 2020 was adventure and the second was action with a total gross of $4,003,384,533 and $47,320,511,189. This showed my there was an incredible high demand for my movies genre which just gave me the sense I was doing something right. This is how data has extremely proved that my decision making for my movie was going on the right track.  

The concept of my movie to me has the same type of feel as many popular movies, but also giving it my own style. Which got me wondering if the audience was going to like it or even enjoy some parts. But after looking over the assigned articles I realized that I really am on to something with my concept. For example, in the assigned article, “Exploring the role of the meaningful experiences in users’ appreciation of “good movies”” it talks about the feelings that audience felt after watching named movies by saying, “Life is Beautiful--” No matter how much strife and hardship you are faced with, stay positive, do the best you can, and you will prevail.” This showed me how moved the audience felt after watching a movie with this concept. Which helped prove my overall concept message which is no matter how ugly or terrible things are if you just work and strive to make things better. You will always prevail. Also in the assigned article, “Exploring the role of the meaningful experiences in users’ appreciation of “good movies”” it talks about theory's that audiences like by saying.  “This theory suggests that when people are reminded of their morality, they attempt to buffer their anxiety through a host of different means including clinging to their mortality, they attempt to buffer their anxiety through a host of different means, including clinging to their cultural worldviews, and attempting to find meaning and order in their environments as an avenue for making sense of their mortal existence in the world (Greenberg et al.1995).” This helped prove my movie concept by showing how well received this theory for a movie concept is and since my concept is just like this. In the way that he main character, Cody is remined of his morality when he tries to stop all the crime in the city because he is fed up with it. This is how the assigned article has helped prove that my concept was on the right track.
