Storyboard

 Storyboarding Blog Post: This week I completed my storyboard. While doing my storyboard the one thing that was challenging and annoying was coloring in each and every storyboard over and over again. But on the other hand I did enjoy drawing the storyboard. This is because I already sort of new how the first 2 minutes where going to be. Which ended up helping enhancing my topic and giving me a clear outline of how I was going to fill my movie and it made my drawing skills better. Also, in the article “Filmmaking across the curriculum: a beginner’s guide” it says, “students learning outcome can include the development of: *enhanced writing, artistic and design skills”. This explains the affect of creating my storyboard had on me because while doing my storyboard I feel like it helped my drawing and artistic skills. Since it made me thing outside the box. Also, in the article, “Storyboard your way to success” it says, “Storyboard is a flexible and comprehensive tool that can be used by a group to devise creative concepts. "This relates to my storyboard, because after creating my storyboard I felt like my concept was well planed out and I knew exactly how I was going to film it. Unlike before starting the storyboard I was not exactly sure I was going to film my movie. But  actually I decided not to change anything from my concept refinement. All in all, doing the storyboard  really helped lay out my ideas and enhance my drawing and creative skills.

  • This is a drone shot of the city from the water
  • The setting is the city with no extra props just a simply moving drone shot. 
  • The shot is moving slowly to the left to reveal more of the city as time goes on.
  • There is no real action or dialogue in this scene
  • The only sound is the song playing called Everybody Knows.
  • There is no F/X in this shot




  • Image 2 
  • This is a simple overhead drone shot of the city, without any extra props.
  • The camera is slightly moving to left as time goes on to show more of the street. 
  • This shot does not have much action besides the cars driving down the street
  • There is no dialogue. 
  • The only sound is the song Everybody Knows
  • There is no F/X in this shot. 
  • Image 3 
  • This is the first shot with THE MAIN CHARACTER, walking down the side walk right next to a store being robbed. Also, in the corner you can see the store being robbed. 
  •  The camera angle is right in front of the main character walking, about eye level. 
  • In this shot the props are the robbers equipment 
  • The action is the main character walking down the side walk past the store being robbed. The other action is the robbers robbing the store. 
  • There is no dialogue
  • The only sound is the song Everybody Knowns continuing from the previous images.
  • The only F/X is the fake fire in the store. 
  • Image 4
  • In this image the main character is still walking down the sidewalk and the robbers have just ran out of the store. 
  • The only added props are the robbers equipment.
  • The camera angle is the same as the last shot  which is right in front of the main character walking, about eye level. 
  • The actions is the main character walking down the sidewalk. The other action is the two robbers running out of the store. 
  • There is no dialogue
  • The only sound is the song Everybody Knowns continuing from the previous images.
  • The only F/X is the fake fire in the store.

  • In this image the robbers ran past the main character who was walking down the street. So he decides to run behind the one directly in front of him and try to stop him. 
  • The only props are the robbers equipment. 
  • The action is the main characters running to try to stop the robber who ran in front of him. 
  •  The camera angle is right in front of the main character walking, about eye level. 
  • No dialogue. 
  • The only sound is the same song continuing from the other scenes.
  • There is no F/X because the store on fire is no longer in the shot.

  • In this image the main character finally reaches the robber and pulls his shoulder trying to stop him.
  • The only props are the robbers equipment
  • The camera angle is a still shot that is level with the back of the main characters head. 
  • The action is the main character pulling the robber shoulder trying to stop him. 
  • There is no dialogue.
  • The only sound is the same song continuing from the previous image. 
  • There is no F/X.
  • Image 7
  • In this image the robber turn around after the main character pulling his shoulder trying to stop him. Then the robber punches the main character in the face. 
  • The only props are the robbers equipment.
  • The camera angle is a still shot that is level with the back of the main characters head. 
  • The action is the robber turning around and then punching the main character in the face. 
  • There is no dialogue. 
  • The only sound is the same song continuing from the past image. 
  • There is no F/X. 
  • Image 8
  • In this image the main character tries getting back up after being punched by the robber. 
  • The only props are the robbers equipment. 
  • The shot is about ground level and keeps the main character in the center, also the shot is a steady shots. 
  • The action is the main character falling down after being punched, and then him trying to get back up. 
  • There is no dialogue
  • The only sound is the song continuing from the past images. 
  • There is no F/X. 
  • Image 9
  • This image is the main character gets back up trying to fight the robber again and just gets knocked out (by getting punched in the face).
  • The only props are the robbers equipment. 
  • The camera angle is from the opposite angle as the last shot since the main character turned around to try to punch the robber. The center is about eye level with the main character. This is a steady shot. 
  • The action is the main character getting back up turning around try to fight the robber and gets knocked out by the robber. 
  • There is no dialogue.
  • The only sound is the song continuing from the other images.
  • There is no F/X. 

  • Image 10
  • In this image is when  the main character falls to the ground and is knocked out while the robbers run away. 
  • The props are the robbers equipment. 
  • The camera is a drone shot/over head sot. First it is zoomed into the main character then it zooms out to see both the main character knocked out and the robber running away. 
  • The action is the main character falling down and being knocked out and the robbers running away.

  To Team or Not Team: I have at arrived at my decision whether to work on my portfolio project in a group or not and have decided to work in a group. Even though I know that it will be hard to work in a group, since I am online. But I have  actually decided  to work in a group, my decision is a result from the experience with the “Social Media Peer Account” and the Lost at Sea” team-building activity on Blackboard. For example, when doing both the social media and the lost at sea activity it was extremely hard trying to talk back and forth to my teammate while being online. But once we figured out a way to communicate the activity was fun. This is because as an online school student, you don’t really get to talk to your friends in class or anyone really for that matter. But with this activity the online students got to talk and collaborate with anyone in the class. Peer Review

  After presenting  I got a lot of feedback from my peers . The main thing they said was that I should add more VFX especially to the  street shot. Which I heavily agree  about. I was actually planning to add VFX to the street shot , but I ran out of time. But now since I have a little bit before I have to send my project to Cambridge so I can add those finishing touches such as  more VFX. Also, when getting feedback people said to  add more sound  e ffects.  One example they gave me was to add explosion soun ds  when there was smoke VFX on screen. Which  in my opi ni on will make the scene more impactful  in the long run .  The last thing  people said was to make the intro  t itle scene longer. On this screen it  has text that  explains what this story is going to be about . The r eason they said to make it longer was because they  couldn’t read the whole thing  b y the time the screen went away....
